My 4-star room for the night after leaving the cosy apartment of Fabian and Noemi in Budapest. It didn´t rain but the night was windy and I enjoyed the walls and roof above me.
It rained all day over 110km between Kekcskemét and Szeged... Halfd my way was in forests where I could observe some hares, feasants, deers and a nest of beatiful storks, which would fly if I came closer to the post.

I passed 1000km right in the middle of the Hungarian plains, on a dusty path, at dusk : Waooooooh !!!
The sands were so soft that I could not ride for 11km. I walked and pushed my bike in a labyrinth of trees and thorn-bushes, relying on my compass to get out of there. I experienced my 1st puncture after an attempt to ride aside the sand :-(
mmmmh !

A shorter haircut and a tired smile after 50km riding southwards of Budapest, just when passing 1000km... And not a single pub to celebrate it !
The neo-roman Cathedral of Szeged: The former one was destroyed so as 95÷ of the city in 1896 after a huge flooding... And rebuilt. Today, the dams have been re-inforced all along with temporary sand-bags as the Tisza level is just 15cm below the lim
Inside the Cathedral of Szeged... yes baroque is far behind me and byzantism is getting more and more obvious
